TN Chief Minister urges students not to resort to extreme step

Tamil Nadu on Wednesday urged students not to take extreme steps like commiting suicide for failing to get higher marks in exams.

Speaking in the assembly, Palaniswami admitted that he was pained on hearing the news of suicide by who committed suicide on June 4 for scoring lower marks in the medical entrance exam or the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2018.

Announcing a solatium of Rs 700,000 to her family, the urged the students not to resort to such extreme steps.

Scoring 1,125/1,200 marks in the plus two exams did not score high marks in the NEET exam. Dejected with her poor score, she committed suicide at her home in district.
