Gahanna police recently responded to several complaints about dogs left unattended in hot vehicles.

A man was warned after leaving two dogs locked in a vehicle in a parking lot on North Hamilton Road, according to a report received at 2:30 p.m. May 25. The car windows were only slightly open and the dogs were panting heavily, according to reports.

A dog locked in a car on Triumph Way appeared to be in distress, according to a complaint received at 7:17 p.m. May 28. The windows were cracked open, reports said.

A dog was reported in a hot car in a parking lot on South Hamilton Road, according to a complaint received at 12:43 p.m. May 28. Police found the dog wasn't in distress, reports said.

A dog was inside a vehicle with the windows barely cracked at a business parking lot on Morrison Road, according to a complaint received at 10:06 a.m. May 28. Police found the owners with the dog, reports said.

* A vehicle on Rocky Fork Boulevard was rummaged through but nothing was stolen, according to a report received at 2:09 a.m. May 27.

* A vehicle was rummaged through on Harvest Ridge Court, according to a report received at 1:41 a.m. May 27.

* A Lyncroft Drive resident reported a solicitor was disrespectful and called him a name he didn't appreciate, according to a suspicious person report received at 2:35 p.m. May 26. The solicitor refused to leave the property and to show a solicitor's permit, the resident said. Police observed the solicitor on Lyncroft, made contact and verified he had a valid permit, reports stated.

* A vehicle parked on the street on Diven Lane was vandalized with eggs and barbecue sauce overnight, according to a report received at 10:55 a.m. May 26.

* People were blocking the intersection of North Hamilton Road and Stoneridge Drive to collect money, according to a complaint received at 9:21 a.m. May 26. A group from the American Cancer Society Relay for Life had an intersection permit for that day, reports said.

Some safety concerned were conveyed, according to reports.

* A suspicious vehicle was reported at a parking lot on South Hamilton Road, according to a report received at 4:02 a.m. May 26. The occupant had fallen asleep after eating fast food, according to reports.
