June 6 (UPI) -- David Spade has paid homage to his recently deceased sister-in-law, handbag designer Kate Spade, by posting old photo across social media.

"Fuzzy picture but i love it. Kate and I during Christmas family photos. We had so much fun that day. She was so sharp and quick on her feet," the actor said on Instagram alongside a blurry photo of himself speaking with a smiling Kate.

"She could make me laugh so hard. I still cant believe it. Its a rough world out there people, try to hang on," he continued.

David posted another photo on Twitter of Kate meeting him at his book signing. "I love this pic of her. So pretty. I dont think everyone knew how [expletive] funny she was... Its a rough world out there people. Try to hang on," he said.

Kate was married to Andy Spade, the brother of David. The pair had a daughter together, Frances.

Kate founded famous fashion and handbag brand Kate Spade New York in 1993 with Andy. She launched a new fashion brand in 2007 Frances Valentine after leaving Kate Spade New York. Frances Valentine was bought by Coach in 2016.

Kate was found dead Tuesday at the age of 55 of an apparent suicide at her Park Avenue home in New York City. The circumstances surrounding her death are under investigation.
