ALIQUIPPA — You won't have to worry about any librarians shushing you Friday night in Aliquippa.

For once, the B.F. Jones Memorial Library staff encourages you to sing and shout loudly, or dance up a storm, as Billy the Kid & the Regulators perform at the Blues and Brews fundraiser in the Aliquippa library's serene outdoor garden area.

Along with uptempo blues from one of Beaver County's most distinguished bands, visitors can enjoy craft beer and wings.

If it rains, the show gets moved inside the library.

The 21-and-older event lasts from 7 to 10 p.m., with tickets $25. For more information, call 724-375-2900 or check beaverlibraries.org.

Prepping for a gig late this month at a blues festival in Ontario, Billy the Kid & the Regulators are putting together a new album aimed for a November release. The group has been featured in a WQED-TV special and finished third in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tenn.

Frontman Billy Evanochko also has played in a Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute show.

Billy the Kid & the Regulators have played the Aliquippa library's Blues and Brews show since its inception.

"I believe in what they're about and what it supports," Evanochko said. "I’m honored that they let me be a part of it."

Plus, the Blues and Brews organizers, Cindy and Ed Murphy, are lifelong family friends.

"We lived literally less than a block from each other in Woodlawn Park," Evanochko said. "To them, I’m Billy, the kid up the street, not Billy the Kid."
