BENGALURU: Vidhana Soudha police are hunting for a conman who used the Legislators’ Home premises to lure government job aspirants and cheated two persons to the tune of Rs 6.9 lakh.
The victims are Prashant and his friend Sunitha, both residents of Hanumanthanagar, south Bengaluru.

Prashant’s sister Aparna complained to Upparpet police on May 26 that he had been cheated by a man called Sanjaya Kiran. Cops registered a cheating case and later transferred it to Vidhana Soudha police for investigation.

Aparna alleged that she met Kiran at LH a few months ago and he claimed to have good contacts in the government and could get jobs for anyone. She sought a First Division Assistant job for her brother and Kiran said he’d do it. He also promised to get Prashant’s friend, Sunita, a job as a Second Division Assistant (SDA).

They paid Rs 70,000 cash to Kiran at LH as the first instalment and Rs 6.2 lakh in the second instalment in January this year. Neither did they get the jobs nor was the money returned. Police said Kiran fled on learning about the police case and is absconding.
