HYDERABAD: Stating that both judiciary and legislature have their own powers, TRS MLA KP Vikekananda said that the state government and Assembly authorities would take an appropriate decision on the verdict delivered by Hyderabad High Court on expulsion of Congress members — Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and S A Sampath Kumar.

While addressing media here on Monday, the Quthbullapur legislator said despite the efforts being made by the TPCC leadership too woo Seemandhras in Hyderabad, all the Andhras living in the city would continue to back the TRS like they did in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls. “All the people who are living in Hyderabad city including Andhras, who made the city their home, are solidly backing the policies of K Chandrasekhar Rao government. Hence, our party is going to repeat its remarkable performance shown in the GHMC polls even in 2019,” he said.

The young lawmaker ridiculed the TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy’s statement made on Sunday that the Congress would give its tickets to Andhras settled in Hyderabad, during the 2019 polls. “Congress, which has lost hopes on electoral prospects in rural areas following the introduction of Rythu Bandhu and other welfare schemes, has now shifted its focus to urban areas. It has now begun shedding crocodile tears too woo Andhra electors in the GHMC area. But, Andhras will never believe in the Congress,” he said.
