Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Southern Region Transmission System-I (SRTS-I) and the National Academy of Construction on Tuesday signed an MoU for placement-linked skill development training programmes to benefit 390 underprivileged/unemployed youth in Telangana. Executive Director, SRTS-I, V.Sekhar and Director General of NAC K.Bikshapathi exchanged the MoU documents.
Power Grid will contribute a little over ₹1.10 crore under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) for this initiative with NAC, a release from the Corporation said.
As part of the MoU, unemployed youth aged 18-35 years, would be imparted necessary skills in various fields of construction.
NAC will provide various skill development programmes like masonry, plumbing, bar bending, painting and decoration, electrical house wiring, welding, general works supervisor, land surveyor, curtain and garment stitching across its 31 centres in the State. The selection of candidate will be done jointly by POWERGRID and NAC.
