DOVER The Grand Masonic Lodge of Ohio encourages all local lodges to recognize individuals for their community service by presenting the Community Builders Award. This year, Tusclodge No. 59 in Dover recognized Doreen Ley, the daughter of Dr. Robert and Mrs. Christel Ley.

Ley has volunteered for three years at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital and served in a large numbers of departments. Some of these areas include the main information desk, human resources, maternity, mammography, outpatient surgery center and most recently in the information systems department.

She has gone above and beyond and is more than willing to jump in when needed, according to Kathy Willoughby, manager of volunteer services at the hospital. Her flexibility has been helpful as well, given that life does have many obstacles and she is willing to cover a shift even on short notice. Ley brings with her a wealth of knowledge in healthcare given family members who have worked in the field of healthcare. This has aided in her ability to catch on quickly to many tasks.

Ley has completed 2,249 hours of volunteer service in three years.
