Gram Swaraj Campaign to push Centre’s schemes

Chief Minister Raghubar Das has pitched for speedy and effective implementation of Government schemes and underlined the role of the Government in doing welfare work for villages, poor, farmers, women, youth and the disadvantaged.

While reviewing progress in 19 aspirational districts of the State on Monday, the CM said that focus would be given during the second phase of Gram Swaraj Campaign. “By August 15, 6512 villages of the aspirational districts will have 100 per cent implementation of seven flagship schemes of the Central Government. Officials should review the progress in every 15 day and real time monitoring should be done about implementation,” said the CM during the meeting.

He also directed to fix responsibilities of officials and to pass the benefits to the people by organising camps. “Local MPs, MLAs, people from self-help groups etc should participate in this. The goal of the whole campaign is to get the benefits of government schemes to the poor,” said the Chief Minister during the review meet of Gram Swaraj Campaign.

The Chief Minister said that the first phase of the Gram Swaraj campaign was successfully completed on the occasion of Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti on the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In the second phase, seven flagship schemes namely Prime Minister Ujjwala scheme, Saubhagya Scheme, Ujala scheme, Prime Minister Jan Dhan Scheme, Prime Minister Jeevan Jyoti Bima Scheme, Prime Minister Security insurance scheme and Mission Indradhanush along with benefits of State government schemes will be given to these villages.

“In each of these villages, complete works like electricity to every household, LPG connections, accident and life insurance, LED bulbs, vaccination of children and pregnant women on time. Construction of roads to the villages along with prioritizing the goals related to education, health facilities, ICDS centers, agriculture-animal husbandry etc should be on agenda. Pay special attention to the emergency ambulance service 108. Civil surgeon should encourage driver and other personnel of the ambulance,” said the CM.

It was informed in the meeting that under the Ujjwala scheme, 6512 villages will be given 645560 gas connections by August 15. Under the Saubhagya scheme, 15.41 lakh houses will be provided electricity. Distribution of 1,08,100 mini kits of Soil Health Cards, pulses and oil seeds to the farmers, distribution of mango, guava, papaya, lemon plants among 47500 farmers, vaccination of animals etc will be completed. The Chief Minister said that Panchayat volunteers, Block Co-ordinators, Labour Inspector should help in opening Jan Dhan account. Displaced people should be given Patta by organising camps.

Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi, Development Commissioner Sukhdev Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Principal Secretary, Secretary and Senior Officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
