JanaJal install Water ATMs and Water on Wheels during World Environment Day India 2018

Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change is the  Global Host of World Environment Day and to commemorate this day  they are organising WED India 2018 from June 01 to June 05 2018 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi .

JanaJal, India’s first dedicated water services company has been  invited to coming together  to provide safe drinking water through water ATMs and Water on Wheels  during an event .

JanaJal welcomes the initiative against plastic by the Government of India. This is indeed a positive step taken by the government not only in public interest but also the cause of reducing pollution and contamination to the environment.  JanaJal addresses the gap between expensive bottled water and the cheap plastic pouches that do not necessarily provide clean water but add to plastic waste in the process and conserve the environment and minimise the usage of plastic bottles. . Dispensing a glass of chilled water (300 ml) for Re 1 not only ensures economic viability but increases consumption of safe water by more and more people who now find it extremely affordable and accessible. This initiative is an important step towards highlighting how it is critical to collaborate under a joint effort between Government of India  and the private sector to deliver the social impact that is unparalleled”.

He further added “Beat Plastic Pollution”, the theme for World Environment 2018, urges governments, industry, communities, and individuals to come together and explore sustainable alternatives and urgently reduce the production and excessive use of single-use plastic polluting our oceans, damaging marine life and threatening human health. India is also emerging as a leader, given it has one of the highest recycling rates in the world which can be instrumental in combating plastic pollution. By hosting World Environment Day 2018, the Indian government is accelerating its leadership on an issue of tremendous magnitude.

On the occasion Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change said India is excited to host the World Environment Day this year on June 5. Indian philosophy and lifestyle has long been rooted in the concept of co-existence with nature. We are committed to making Planet Earth a cleaner and greener place”

He further added: “ Protecting Mother Earth is not just our political or social obligation , it’s our moral responsibility.   If each and every one of us does at least one green good deed daily towards our Green Social Responsibility, there will be billions of green good deeds daily on the planet.”
