EvaBelle Christner, 92, of Monaca, formerly of Scottdale, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Friday, June 1,2018, in the Providence Care Center, Beaver Falls. Eva Belle was born December 11, 1925, in Bullskin Twp., a daughter of the late Earl and Elizabeth (Echard) Welty. She was married to Harry R. Christner, who passed away on March 5, 1995. EvaBelle will be sadly missed by her loving family; her two children, H. Raymond Christner and wife Rita of Monaca and Sarah Elizabeth Brkovich of Monaca; her two grandchildren, Ray Christner and wife Darci of Mentor, Ohio, and Meagan Christner of Pittsburgh; her two great-grandchildren, Chase and Harper Christner of Mentor, Ohio; her sister, Barbara Applegate and husband Marvin of Trenton, N.J.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Welty, and her two sisters, Jane Sultzer and Mary Otto. EvaBelle retired from the Gallatin National Bank. She was a member of the Scottdale Garden Club, Order of the Eastern Star, and an active member of the Calvin United Presbyterian Church. After moving to Monaca in 2001, she volunteered at the Aliquippa Hospital and as a member of the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church in Aliquippa, where she operated the community food bank.
