Vadodara: A group of youngsters came up with an innovative idea to spread the message of reducing plastic usage on the occasion of World Environment Day on Tuesday. Youngsters from nine states and three other countries wrote quotes on preserving environment along with their selfies. The initiative was done by a city-based group Baroda Strikers.
“The idea was to spread awareness about reducing plastic use in our daily lives and urge everyone to preserve environment,” said Prarthi Shah, member of the group. Youths from Meghalaya, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, De-lhi, WB, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu along with Canada, Australia and US wrote quotes and clicked photos. “We will make a collage of their quotes and photos that will be posted on our Facebook page,” Shah added.

Members of a city-based group Nature Walk too celebrated the day by gathering on the ghaats of Vishwamitri River. The members sowed seeds along the river bank and spread the message of improving green cover.
