Thippavva Kinagi, 65, and her younger brother Narasappa Kinagi, 60, residents of Mashal village in Afzalpur taluk of Kalaburagi district, allegedly died of electrocution at their residence on Monday morning.
The incident came to light on Monday night following complaints from neighbours. Thippavva suffered an electric shock while taking bath and in a bid to rescue her, Narasappa too got electrocuted and the two died on the spot.
Meanwhile, the villagers and Dalit organisations in Mashal staged a protest demanding compensation to the bereaved family.
Both the bodies have been sent for a post-mortem examination. A case has been registered in Afzalpur police station.
