Indore: Taking cognisance of goof up in giving more than maximum marks to students, Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University on Monday summoned Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences authorities to give explanation in the matter.

One student got 31 marks while two obtained 32 marks out of maximum 30 marks in the practical examination of ophthalmology. The university put the blame on the medical college for sending wrong marks to them due to which wrong marks were given to the students of MBBS pre-final year.

Vice-chancellor of MPMSU Dr RS Sharma said, “We were too surprised with wrong marking to the students and probed the matter. What we have found is that SAIMS administration had sent us wrong marks. They have sent us marks out of 40 but it marking should have been done from maximum 30 marks.”

He said that the corrigendum in the matter will be published in shortly and the fresh results will be released soon. “We have summoned the college administration to give explanation for sending wrong marks and also asked them to send new marks out of 30,” Dr Sharma said.
