Komphela set for another PSL stint next season?

2018-06-05 14:32

Cape Town - Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has reportedly received interest from clubs both locally and abroad.

Komphela ended his stay with Kaizer Chiefs just a couple of months short of three years when he parted ways with the club in April this year.

The 50-year-old is yet to talk about his future plans, but according to his agent, Tim Sukazi, Komphela may well be back in the Absa Premiership next season, that's if he does not take up an offer abroad.

"There's interest in Steve's services but we haven't opened up official talks with those teams that enquired about his services," Sukazi told IOL

"At this stage, I can't reveal the names of the clubs who have enquired about him. I have inquiries locally and there's one team overseas," he added.

Komphela is fluent in Turkish after spending four years in that country as a player.

In terms of the Absa Premiership, it's reported that SuperSport United and Polokwane City could be potential destinations for Komphela.

So too could be his former club Free State Stars, if they part ways with current coach Luc Eymael. At the moment though these options are little more than speculation.
