The Queer Eye boys are in Canberra - but why?

Is someone in Canberra about to be made over by the world's most famous and fabulous makeover team?

The Queer Eye boys are on the ground in the ACT but are they here on a press junket for Queer Eye season two or are they here to do what they do best?

The fab five announced two weeks ago they would visit Australia in early June ahead of Queer Eye's second season dropping on Netflix on June 15. While the boys gave very litle detail on which cities they'd be visiting, they did reveal they'd be doing a "special makeover" while in Australia.

All five of the makeover kings - Antoni Porowsi, Tan France, Karomo Brown, Jonathan Van Ness and Bobby Berk - posted shots of their longhaul flight to Australia on Instagram on Sunday night AEST. But Berk's and Van Ness's Instagram stories this morning are the big giveaways that the boys are on the ground in the nation's capital.

Bobby posted pics that clearly showed he is staying in a suit at Ovolo (formerly Hotel Hotel). The decor - including the hotel's iconic concrete bath - is the giveaway. Van Ness posted a video dancing in the concrete bathroom and pics posing in the bath.

Ovolo itself could not comment on whether the fab five had checked in, describing any information as "top secret".

The debate rages in the Fairfax newsroom on exactly who the boys could be here to scrutinise and completely re-brand. A public servant? The Prime Minister himself? Or even Barnaby Joyce? Andrew Barr is delivering the ACT budget, so it can't be him.

Netflix has been contacted for comment.
