THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said in the assembly that the government is mulling over bringing in a legislation to put an end to the practice of conducting weapon training camps inside premises of places of worship and schools. Police have been asked to monitor all such trainings as it has been noted that the RSS has been using certain temples and schools for such purposes, said the chief minister.
The government has received reports that two schools in the state, one in Kuthuparambu and another in Parassala, were being used to provide such training to children. As per a high court verdict, the school premises should not be used for such activities. Hence, the government has asked the education department to act against the school authorities.

Similarly, places of worship should also not be used to provide arms training to party workers. The government will not allow the RSS or any other extremist elements to use such places for anti-social activities, he said.

Rights body rapped:Vijayan also said in the assembly that the state human rights commission was intervening in issues where it has no right to interfere. The commission has also been making unnecessary comments, he pointed out.
