Police have located a teen that had last been seen in Alma.
Brooklyn Elaine Howard, 15, had been making regular contact with her family up until Monday and she was last seen on Friday, according to police.
Her mother, Amy Adams, reported on Facebook just before 7 p.m. that Howard had been located and taken into custody.
Howard was located at her boyfriend’s home in Elm Hall, Adams said.
She was picked up, held in protective custody then taken into custody of juvenile probate court officials, said Sheriff Doug Wright.
Later, she will be transferred to the Midland Detention Center, Adams said.
“Our deputies were asked to check a house in the county where a runaway could be hiding,” Wright said.
At about 10:30 p.m. Friday, Howard was reported missing to the Alma Police Department by Adams, she said.
“She’s actually listed as a runaway. She’s been in contact with me via Facebook,” Adams said.
The last time Howard contact Adams was about 2:49 p.m. Monday via Facebook, she said.
Howard is hiding because she is on probation, according to Adams.
“She runs with so many people and they’re all addicted to drugs, like the hardcore stuff,” she said. “That’s why I’m starting to worry.”
On Friday, Adams contacted the police to help find her daughter after she noticed $500 cash missing from her home, and most of her clothes along with a backpack and duffle bag missing.
Howard said her daughter has been known to frequent the communities of Elm Hall, Six Lakes and Edmore.
