After passing of over a week of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) president Amit Shah’s claim that the going will be tough for the Party in case of opposition alliance in coming Lok Sabha polls in Uttar Pradesh but yet they will either win Rae Bareli or Amethi, Congress MLC and Party’s leader of the House in the Legislative Council, Deepak Singh threw challenge before Shah here on Monday.

`Leave Rae Bareli or Amethi Parliament constituencies represented by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi respectively, I challenge Shah to name just one booth of the constituency where he think BJP will win and if it turned true than he will resign from the Council or in case of defeat of BJP, Shah should quit his Rajya Sabha membership”, challenged Deepak Singh through a tweet on Monday. Singh, who is very close to Gandhi family members claimed that not just Amethi and Rae Bareli, BJP would not reach double figure in Uttar Pradesh and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi had to face tough time to be re-elected from Varanasi seat. ``It is better that Modi should go in for some new safe seat if he wanted to enter into Lok Sabha next time, Singh said that attacking Shah over his comments.

In may be mentioned that during a press conference in last week of May in New Delhi, Shah agreed that an alliance between two regional heavyweights, Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh, would be a challenge for his party. He, however, asserted the BJP will defeat the Congress either in Amethi or in Rae Bareli. “If the BSP and SP contest in alliance, it would be a challenge to us. But we are sure that we will win either one seat: Amethi or Rae Bareli,” Shah told the media in Delhi on the occasion of the completion of four years of the Modi government.
