Mughalsarai now officially becomes Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction

In a tribute to one its tallest leaders, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Uttar Pradesh government is all set to name the Mughalsarai railway station as Deen Dayal Upadhyaya station.
Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik gave his consent to the propsal to rename none of the busiest railway stations in India, Mughalsarai, as Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Times of India reported.
The Uttar Pradesh government issued a notification in this regard, it added.
Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, who was a Jan Sangha ideologue, died under mysterious circumstances at the Mughalsarai station in 1986.
The Yogi Adityanath-led UP government had proposed changing the name of the station last year after which it was sent to the ministry of railways. The proposal was forwarded to the Raj Bhavan after the railway ministry gave its consent.
