Liverpool news: Loris Karius was guilty of two errors against Real Madrid

That is the opinion of former Aberdeen goalkeeper turned journalist David Preece.

Karius was guilty of two huge errors in last month’s Champions League final in Kiev.

The German was at fault for Karim Benzema’s goal as well as Gareth Bale’s second.

However, it has emerged Karius did suffer a concussion before the two mistakes after a collision with Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.

We need to get away from the excuse or that it’s going to be used as an excuse for what happened in the final

Preece says there should be no doubts over the diagnosis from the doctors, which was revealed on Monday.

But he does not think it should be used as a reason for the Liverpool goalkeeper’s mistakes.

“We need to get away from the excuse or that it’s going to be used as an excuse for what happened in the final,” Preece told talkSPORT.

“I think it’s irrelevant to be honest with you.

Liverpool news: It has emerged Loris Karius suffered a concussion against Real Madrid

“We’re all having this discussion about whether it is an excuse or whether he really had a concussion.

“He’s been examined by a doctor who is an expert in head trauma.

“There’s no discussion there, he has suffered a concussion.”
