A man employed in an electronic shop on Ritchie Street stabbed his close friend and colleague to death on Sunday following a quarrel and hanged himself from the ceiling of the shop.
According to the police, Saravanan, 30, and Prabhu, 28, were staying at Narasingapuram. They had joined the shop a couple of years ago and became friends over time. Six months ago, they parted following differences, the police said.
On Sunday evening, Saravanan stabbed Prabhu following a heated argument, killing him on the spot. Saravanan then hanged himself from the ceiling fan.
Other workers who came to open the shop on Monday morning found the two dead. The Chintadripet police registered a case and are investigating.
