The Communist Party of India leadership has chosen party Central secretariat member Binoy Viswam as the party nominee for the biennial Rajya Sabha election on June 21.
The decision of the State executive committee on Tuesday morning was approved by the Central leadership instantly. The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) has the strength in the Assembly to win two of the three seats that would fall vacant on July 1. The other seat would be contested by the CPI(M).
