Matt Murray has been named editor-in-chief of the Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires, replacing Gerard Baker at the helm of the venerable business newspaper. Murray is currently executive editor. Baker, after more than five years as editor-in-chief, will become editor at large as well as host a new program on Fox Business Network. The five-member Dow Jones Special Committee, formed in 2007 to monitor editorial standards and ethics issues at the Journal, has unanimously approved the changes, the company said. News Corp owns the Wall Street Journal as well as MarketWatch, the publisher of this report.
