Android users are being tricked by fake versions of popular video game Fortnite which infect devices their devices with spyware, warns cloud-based security company Zscaler.

The popular strategy survival game with 45 million active players was released on Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4 and XBox One in July last year.

Developers Epic Games announced that it will be extending the game to mobile platforms and launched an iOS version. However, they are yet to release a version for Android platforms, which has left it open to fake apps on the Google Play store.
