Dominic Thiem serving for the opening set at 5-4 against Alexander Zverev. Mishit by Zverev is into the net and Thiem has two set points. Zverev saves one, just about, after a scramble to the net. Thiem's outstretched volley goes narrowly long. Still has one more chance to take the opener. Closes it out with an ace! Down the backhand side, perfect angle to it and THIEM WINS OPENING SET 6-4.
Putintseva's serve under pressure once again. Serving to stay in it with Keys in command. One set point saved with Keys' forehand hitting the top of the net and going out. And nets the second forehand. Jumped into the shot well but didn't get the desired height on it to clear the net. Deuce. Drop shot matched with another drop shot and Keys sends her push long. Game point for Putintseva. Chance for Keys to bring it to deuce but the groundstroke is weak and the extended point only sees a wild swing from the American. TIEBREAK!
