Man Utd transfer news: Alexis Sanchez told Man City one thing before leaving Arsenal
MANCHESTER UNITED star Alexis Sanchez reportedly told Manchester City he wanted more money before leaving Arsenal in January.
Manchester United signed Sanchez from Arsenal six months ago, despite the player long appearing destined for a move to Manchester City.
The Chile international’s Old Trafford move has, however, so far backfired with the player finding the net just three times.
Many were stunned when Manchester United came along and hijacked the deal, particularly given how Sanchez had been clamouring for a move to City in the months before.
And the Daily Mail have now delved into how Sanchez ended up joining United.
The 29-year-old reportedly told City that, following interest from the Red Devils, he wanted more money.

And the Daily Mail claim that, when City said no, Sanchez chose to accept United’s offer of a reported £600,000 a week.
The Chile international is not the only player to have snubbed City for United.
Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred appears to have done the same, having undergone a medical at the club’s Carrington Training Complex yesterday.
Meanwhile, Sanchez recently admitted he had disappointed for United since his Arsenal move.
He said: "We still have areas where we can continue to improve.

”I think that every game I’ve played in up to now I’ve maybe found it hard to adapt to the style of play and I’ve been getting to know my team-mates.
"I believe we need to improve in all aspects. We need to be focused and concentrated in the big games and the same in the so-called lesser games too.
"I believe that United really is a very big club on a worldwide scale and even more so in England where it’s the biggest.
"They always want to win and to be fighting on all fronts and that’s the reason I wanted to come here.
“I also had some great players alongside me at Barcelona. I think that United are not too dissimilar as a club to them in their size and stature."
