BENGALURU: As the BJP state leadership under opposition leader and state president B S Yeddyurappa cry foul over the “unholy” alliance of the Congress-JD(S) which has led to them being unable to form the government, the party central leadership is learnt to have started focusing on the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

And as part of this, the party central leadership has started to secure “independent” feedback from the state unit as to what went wrong in the 2018 elections.

Party sources cite that the exercise is being carried out to shut out the loopholes in the BJP, in the run up to next year general elections.

Sources cite that as many as six to seven different “reasons” are being listed, including where “adjustment” politics was entered into by the local leadership and where the party was in fact low on moral due to lack of proper candidatures.

“Once the feedback is recieved by the leadership, the party will then start concentrating on the 2019 polls,” said a party worker.

Based on the independent feedback, scouting for the “appropriate” candidates for the general elections will begin.

It is stated that the party will begin its preparatory meetings for the next year polls as early as next month.

Meanwhile, the BJP national leadership has already commissioned the social network department to start concentrating on 2019 elections.

The social media team was recently lauded by prime minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah for their active involvement to get the state unit to 104 seats in the Karnataka assembly.

It is said a “handbook” of the best social media practices, including the ideas put in place by the Karnataka unit, will be brought out by the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
