A 73-year-old woman who lost consciousness while swimming at St Paul’s Bay has suffered serious injuries as a result, the police said.
They said the British woman had been swimming close to Triq it-Trunċiera at 2.10pm.
Some people spotted her floating unconsciously and got her out of the water.
She was taken to hospital by ambulance. Police investigations are continuing.
