The Delhi High Court on Monday refused to grant an urgent hearing to a petition seeking action against those responsible for alleged stalling of metro train services for some time last week following a scuffle between Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) staffers.
Hearing on July 5
A vacation Bench of Justice P.S. Teji and Justice Pratibha M. Singh said the petition filed in public interest will be heard by a regular court, listing it for hearing on July 5.
Former Central government employee Puran Chand Arya has sought directions to the DMRC, CISF, Delhi Police and Ministry of Home Affairs to ensure that such incidents do not occur again.
Mr. Arya said any unlawful stalling of the movement of metro train results in serious problems to the citizens.
The petition pointed out that a heated argument, which turned into a physical fight between a CISF sub inspector and station manager of Dwarka Sector 21 metro station, resulted in train movement grinding to a halt on the Blue Line on the evening of May 31.
