Nissan Kicks Will Offer Some Questionable Styling Accessories

Nissan is trying to kick start sales of its Juke replacement by announcing the all-new crossover will offer an extensive range of customization options.

Designed to stand out from the crowd, the 2018 Kicks is the latest model to get the Color Studio treatment from Nissan. A host of exterior styling options will be available including a front lip finisher, mirror caps, a rear spoiler and a number of special accents. The accessories will be available in five different colors – black, blue, orange, red and white – and they be selected to contrast with the Kick’s seven exterior colors and five two-tone paint jobs.

Besides the colorful styling accessories, customers will be able to order two sets of 17-inch aluminum wheels. Both feature ten-spoke designs but one is all black while the other has a two-tone look.

To spruce up the cabin, Nissan will offer a rearview mirror cover, special sill plates and colorful air vent surrounds. Customers will also have the option of ordering special floor mats.

Pricing varies by component but the mismatched model shown here features $2,340 worth of exterior accessories as well as $425 worth of interior upgrades. The costs aren’t included as part of the crossover’s MSRP but Nissan says they can be rolled into the payment or lease price. Customers who are interested in the accessories can preview their model using a special configurator.

According to Nissan North America’s vice president of aftersales, Mike Soutter, “[The] Kicks is designed to fit the needs of singles or couples looking for style, personal technology, smart functionality and advanced safety features. The Kicks Color Studio adds an affordable way to further personalize the new Kicks, giving buyers the choice of adding just a few or the complete package of factory backed Color Studio accessories.”

The 2018 Nissan Kicks starts at $17,990 and all models are powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 125 hp (93 kW / 126 PS) and 115 lb-ft (155 Nm) of torque.
