Jarrod Michael Toms, 38, of Lawrence, Kan., passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018, surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence. Visitation will precede the service at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Grantville Cemetery in Grantville, Kan.
Jarrod was born July 14, 1979, in Topeka, Kan., the son of Michael and Deborah (Welter) Toms. He was a jack of many trades but helping people with their IT and computer issues was his passion. He was known for his customer service skills and huge, memorable smile. He served his country in the U.S. Army.
His survivors include his father, Michael (Jody) Toms of Marion; his daughter, Rian Marie Toms of Cedar Rapids; his son, Aiden Michael Toms; his brother, Travis Toms, both of Lawrence; sister, Morgan (Burdick) Eggers of Bellevue; and his grandmother, Nancy Boswell of Lawrence.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Debbie Toms.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to American Cancer Society or VITAS Healthcare: Hospice, Palliative Care, & End of Life Services and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
