BHUBANESWAR:“Skilled in Odisha” has completed first phase with rejuvenation of the ITI institutions and entered the second phase of transformation with formulation of “New Mission, Vision, Values and Road Ahead”.

Skill leaders of Odisha comprising the principals and senior faculty of the ITIs presented the “Vision, Mission and Values” worked out in a two-day workshop which concluded here on Saturday in the presence of Subroto Bagchi, Chairman of the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA). The new vision is “ Transform Society through Skilled Professionals”. The Workshop also spelt out the Vision 2020.

The Vision 2020 included making the physical, digital and intellectual infrastructure best in the country, increasing women skill professionals to minimum level of one third among the total skill personnel, providing the eco-system for creating entrepreneurs and globally employable ITI graduates, enhancing industry partnership in skilling exercise and making the teacher and students fit for carrying forward vision of sustainability. The leaders also listed the values of human creativity, discipline, integrity, team work and creativity for themselves for all round development of ITIs in Odisha.

Addressing the valedictory session of the workshop, Minister for Planning, Convergence and Skill
Development Usha Devi said skill transformation of Odisha has created a mark at the national level and the State will soon emerge as one of the best at international level.Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi in his address as the guest of honour said carrying forward the standard of ITIs towards excellence marks the uniqueness of Odisha compared to rest of the country in skill scenario.

Principal Secretary in the Finance department Tuhin Kanta Pandey said human resource is the foundation and face of the institutions. The “Can Do” spirit among skill leaders of Odisha has brought about a qualitative difference, he said and added that with new skill initiatives, the youth of Odisha can now think of competing with the rest of world and lead.

Principal Secretary in the Skill Development and Technical Education department Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director, ITIs, RV Rajakumar also addressed. Chief Executive Officer of OSDA Rajesh Patil, Director of Technical Education Balwant Singh along with 100 Skill Leaders from different ITIs of Odisha participated in the seminar.
