The man in charge of one of the most sophisticated technology systems in retail, Ocado, has told The Telegraph that he believes Artificial Intelligence will be critical to the future of the industry.

Paul Clarke, Chief Technology Officer at the online supermarket, has given a unique insight into the high-tech workings of the company's warehouse where 65,000 orders are picked by robots every week. 

The army of robots, connected wirelessly over 4G, make up the key part of Ocado's 'Hive' system at its Andover warehouse.
