APR constable attempts to outrage modesty of 21-year old girl in Odisha

KENDRAPERA: The Kendrapara police has registered a case against one Armed Police Reserve(APR) constable for attempting to outrage the modesty of a 21-year-old girl at Dahalapur village under Patkura police station.

The victim girl lodged the FIR with the Patkura police station on Sunday alleging that APR Constable Santosh Mahali , a resident of Dahalpur village, had entered her house when she was alone and tried to rape her.

The girl said when she protested and shouted for help, her sister and the neighbours came to her rescue and the APR constable fled.

The victim also alleged that earlier on many occasions, the constable had tried to outrage her modesty When contacted the IIC of Patkura police station Sujit Pradhan said he has received the FIR lodged by the victim.

A case has been registered under 452,376,511,506 IPC .

The accused constable is yet to be nabbed.

Soures said the wife of Santosh Mahali had deserted him and and filed a case against him at Family court which is under sub-judice.
