Acting tough against the BJP law makers who gave given statements against the government and the party, the leadership has issued a warning asking them to mend ways otherwise strict action would taken against them.

Highly placed sources in the BJP told The Pioneer here on Sunday that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who was in Bhadohi on Sunday, had a meeting with the law makersof eastern UP  and asked them to gauge mood of people “rather than issuing statements against the government and the party.”

Recently after defeat of BJP in Kairana and Noorpur some party law makers and ministers in state government attacked Chief Minister saying he has failed to end corruption. Two BJP MLAs one from Ballia and another from Hardoi districts had raised questions about Yogi’s leadership quality.

BJP MLA from Beria assembly segment in Ballia district Surendra Singh had said that CM should take responsibility of the defeat. In a statement he had said that as CM had addressed rallies in Kairana and Noorpur he should take the moral responsibility of party’s defeat.

He had even said that there is corruption in the government following which people are not getting benefit of the welfare schemes.

Sources said that CM had asked the legislators to be in touch with the masses so that they can understand their problems. “The law makers were told in no uncertain terms that instead of issuing statements against the government and the party these legislators should bring the issue to the notice of the party leadership,” the source said.

The meeting of the Kashi Prant, which was attended by the senior law makers, including legislators, was attended by party’s state president Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey, who is MP from Chandauli. The meeting continued for almost one and half hour where the CM stressed for discipline.  Sources said that CM even quoted statements of opposition leaders talking about dissentions in the party.

It is third such meeting of CM with party representatives as earlier he had a meeting of Kanpur kshetra which was held in Etawah and before that he had a meeting in Budaun.

Interestingly, it is second time party leadership had asked the law amkers and ministers not to issue unnecessary statements. Earlier, party’s president had reprimanded Suheldeo Bharatiya Samaj Party president and UP cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar for issuing statements against the government.
