Liverpool news: Loris Karius had head scan following Sergio Ramos collision

LIVERPOOL goalkeeper Loris Karius reportedly underwent a head scan for concussion after clashing with Sergio Ramos in the Champions League final.

The German endured a night to remember in Kiev, gifting Real Madrid two goals as they secured their third successive European crown.

Karius first rolled the ball into the path of Karim Benzema, who intercepted the shot-stopper's attempted throw to a team-mate to give Los Blancos the lead.

The 24-year-old later fumbled a long-range effort from Gareth Bale to seal Madrid's win.

Karius' night went from bad to worse when he was involved in a collision with Ramos.

In footage which was missed by the officials at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium, the Spaniard's elbow collides with the Liverpool goalkeeper as Madrid launched a free-kick into the box.

And a source has told ESPN that Karius needed a head scan for concussion after the incident.

The player flew to America on holiday after returning to Liverpool to England, but club officials insisted he travelled to Boston to visit Dr. Ross Zafonte at Massachusetts General Hospital on May 31.
