Odisha: Ten arrested in AC stealing case

The salesman of an air-conditioner distribution firm along with nine buyers of stolen ACs were on Sunday forwarded to court by Uditnagar police here.

ROURKELA: The salesman of an air-conditioner distribution firm along with nine buyers of stolen ACs were on Sunday forwarded to court by Uditnagar police here. Police recovered 23 sets of ACs from their possession. Uditnagar police station IIC Dibyakanti Lakra said the salesman, identified as Kishore Biswal (40), over a short period of time had stolen 25 new ACs from the firm’s storage point at Bisra Dahar Road.
During verification of stocks, the distributor found some ACs were missing and informed police. Biswal was arrested. The accused had allegedly disposed of the stolen ACs through a local businessman Bidya Sagar Mulchandani (40).

Eight others, including Vishal Vora, Rajendra Prasad Barik, Manoj Joshi, Prakash Singh, Jitendra Patra, Bhola Shwa, Talkesh Mulchandani and Naresh Dey were arrested for buying stolen ACs.
