Two men were arrested May 25 after a traffic stop at Beech Road and state Route 161.

According to New Albany Police Department reports, an officer pulled over a vehicle at 3:05 p.m. for marked-lane violations and conducting an improper turn at an intersection.

A Franklin County K-9 unit that was on the scene to assist found narcotics in the vehicle, and one of the passengers in the vehicle gave false identification to police multiple times.

One man, a 25-year-old Zanesville resident, was charged with drug abuse and had warrants for contempt of court and child support, said Sgt. Kris Daniels.

The second man, a 25-year-old Frazeysburg resident, was charged with obstruction and had a warrant for failure to appear for a 12-point suspension, Daniels said.

Custody was exchanged with the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office, where the warrants originated from, he said.

In other recent New Albany police incident reports:

* A 33-year-old Gahanna man was cited for open container and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 7:07 p.m. May 26 at New Albany-Condit Road and Kardules Fields Drive when an officer found an open beer can and marijuana paraphernalia in the vehicle.

* Criminal trespassing was reported at 6:51 p.m. May 22 in the 2500 block of Beech Road.

People were seen near an AEP substation and AEP security personnel called police, Daniels said.
