Man charged with murder over five-month-old baby's death
A 32-year-old Woodridge man has been charged with one count of murder over the death of a five-month-old baby boy in Brisbane's bayside last year.
Detectives arrested the man on Monday morning after an extensive investigation into the death, which occurred at a property in Cleveland.
Police said a triple-zero call was made about 8.50am on March 28, 2017, reporting a baby boy was unresponsive.
Police and emergency services responded, but the boy was declared dead at the scene.
Police created Operation Papa Planten in a "joint and protracted investigation" involving the Wynnum Child Protection Investigation Unit, and the Child Trauma unit within the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sexual Crime Group.
The 32-year-old man will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
