CPI(M) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Monday said there was no need to even discuss the question of entry of Kerala Congress (M) into the Left front.
The KC(M), he said, was working as part of the UDF and therefore, the question of its inclusion in the LDF was not being discussed nor considered right now. On the expansion of the alliance, he said several parties including Kerala Congress (B) were already cooperating with the Left front, but it was up to the alliance partners to discuss and decide on the question of making them a part of it formally.
Refusing to criticise the police for its recent failures, Kodiyeri said custodial deaths had happened even during the term of the UDF in government. Action was initiated against the officers involved in those cases by the LDF government, he said, adding that he was impressed by the way the State police functioned and the way the government exercised its control over it.
Kodiyeri demanded that the police officers who had refused to investigate the missing complaint on Kevin be removed from service.
