ROCHESTER TWP. — A resident called 911 on Saturday evening after hearing a woman scream for help from inside a township home, police said.

According to the report, the woman yelling for help was being choked by 30-year-old James Troxler, of Baden, inside a bedroom of a Pennsylvania Avenue home.

Police said officers were called to the home at about 5:15 p.m. on June 2 when a resident called to report a potential assault.

A female victim told officers Troxler choked her inside the house and she began to scream, police said. According to the report, when the woman told Troxler that officers were on their way, he grabbed a knife and threatened to kill her.

Police said Troxler then ran from the home and down Pennsylvania Avenue.

The female told police Troxler choked her, but she refused to make a written statement, police said. According to the report, she also told officers she did not want to be treated by medics.

Police said Troxler was found “at the creek off of Lloyd Street” in Rochester and was taken into custody.

Troxler, of 600 Harmony Ave., was charged by Rochester Township police with aggravated assault, making terroristic threats and harassment. He was taken to the Beaver County Jail on Saturday after failing to post a $25,000 bond, records show.
