WATCH: Tunisia goalkeeper ‘fakes’ injury so his team-mates can break Ramadan fast
THIS is the moment a goalkeeper appeared to feign injury so his team-mates could break their fast during Ramadan.
In the 49th minute of Tunisia’s friendly against Turkey, goalkeeper Mouez Hassen stayed down after a collision in the box following a corner.
But as the former Southampton goalkeeper lay receiving treatment from medical staff, his team-mates were seen rushing to the touchline.
Players drank water and ate dates in a bid to refuel after sundown.
It’s understood players and staff had calculated the time of sunset, known in Islam as Iftar or the breaking of the fast, would fall early in the second half.

But it wasn’t the first time Hassen feigned injury to help his team-mates grab some much-needed snacks during a game.
During a friendly against Portugal, Hassen again went down to receive treatment – this time in the 58th minute – and players rushed to eat and drink.
And the move seemed to work.
Tunisia were 2-1 down against Portugal at the time but went on to score an equaliser six minutes after the snack break.
The games against Portugal and Turkey both finished 2-2.
