Swaraj highlights BRICS' role in shaping global trade

External Affairs Minister of on Monday highlighted the importance of association in shaping the global political, economic, and security spheres, as she welcomed her South African counterpart

While speaking at the on-going Foreign Affairs meeting at Johannesburg, Swaraj took note of the timing of the event, which coincided with the era of expanding multilateralism, international trade and evolving rules-based order.

She attached the importance of consolidating intra-BRICS cooperation in the international sphere.

"There have been productive discussions on the margins of in taking stock of the global political affairs," she added.

Further talking about the upcoming BRICS summit 2018, scheduled to be held from 25-27 July at Johannesburg, Swaraj said, "Our deliberation would help in forming groundwork for a successful 10th BRICS summit, scheduled to be held within two months in Johannesburg, which will be attended by our leaders.
