50 grams of fine-quality heroin seized from their possession

The police on Sunday claimed have busted a drug cartel with the arrest of two foreign nationals from west Delhi’s Uttam Nagar.

The accused have been identified Sace Lirbat (33) and Okna Andern (29), both from Ivory Coast in Africa. The police said they were living in India without a passport or visa.

Fifty gram of heroin was seized from the accused, who were supposed to deliver it to a peddler in Uttam Nagar. The drug is worth several lakhs in the international market, the police said.

Dwarka’s Anti-Narcotics Squad had received a tip-off regarding a drug delivery in Uttam Nagar on May 28. “A trap was laid at Om Vihar Phase-III,” said Additional DCP (Dwarka) Santosh Kumar Meena.

The team spotted the accused at the location around midnight and nabbed them. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act has been registered against them.
