At least four civilians and a policeman were injured as militants lobbed a grenade at a police vehicle in Shopian on Monday noon.
Preliminary reports suggest the police vehicle was at Shopian’s Batapora Chowk, housing a Sumo stand, when militants attacked with a grenade. The grenade exploded on the road.
A police official said one woman was among the four civilians hit by splinters. “The injured were shifted to a hospital,” he said.
Reinforcements were rushed to the area. However, no contact was established with the militants.
