HEY PRETTY produced a much-improved effort when scoring in an 18-runner handicap at Fairyhouse last week and is fancied to defy a 6lb penalty here. The Society Rock gelding had the look of an improving three-year-old and should have plenty more progress to come. A price of 9/2 looks generous given trainer John McConnell's excellent record at Ayr. He doesn't send many to the Scottish track but has picked up two wins and three places from his five runners here over the previous 12 months.

The John Feane-trained JUST SHERRY took a good step forward last week over C&D when tackling this extended trip for the first time. Gary Halpin's mount did much of the donkey work in front and led deep inside the final furlong before getting run down by the in-form Rockfish. The pair meet once more this afternoon with Joseph O'Brien's charge the solid market leader. Odds of 11/2 appear to be a discrepancy in terms of how close they finished last time and JUST SHERRY may improve on her second start over this trip.
