District Congress Committee president and TSRTC employees union president Naini Rajender Reddy has said the Telangana Mazdoor Union (TMU) which made tall promises to employees has failed to solve the problems.
He said it is 16 months since Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao assured the TMU of sorting out all issues, however, the union leaders completely failed to get the promises fulfilled. Speaking to newsmen here on Sunday, Mr. Rajender Reddy said the TRS party-backed TMU was elected in the union elections promising solution for all problems of the workers as the TRS was in power and all the ministers and TSRTC officials belonged to the ruling party.
“The union has completely failed to fight for the resolution of issues regarding driver and conductors’ job security, safeguarding the RTC’s several departments from shutting down and preserving the rights of the workers,” he pointed out.
In all 85 RTC workers resigned from the TMU and joined the TSRTC employees union on Sunday.
The TSRTC employees’ union state president S. Babu said the union would never stop fighting for the rightful demands of the RTC employees. He congratulated the workers who came away from the TMU in support of the employees’ union. Employees union state general secretaries K. Raji Reddy, E. Venkanna, M. Srinivas, greater Warangal Congress Committee president K. Srinivas Rao, N. Laxma Reddy and others were present.
