Civil Services aspirant commits suicide

A 28-year old Civil Services aspirant allegedly committed suicide after he was denied entry to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Preliminary Examination on Sunday as he was late by few minutes.

Deceased Varun Subhash Chandran hailed from Karnataka. He was staying in rented accommodation in the Rajendra Nagar area.

He was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his room by his friend, who informed the police at 5.55 p.m. The gate was broken open and the body sent for post-mortem to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. A suicide note was recovered from the room, said Mandeep Randhawa, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP)-Central.
