Danville and state authorities are searching for a missing 7-month-old after a suspected abduction Sunday night, police report.
An Amber Alert has been issued for Emma Grace Kennedy last seen at the Kwik Stop on Riverside Drive in Danville at about 8 p.m. Sunday, police said. The child “is believed to be in extreme danger.”
The infant has blond hair, blue eyes and was last seen wearing a light blue “onesie.”
Police are searching for Carl Ray Kennedy, a suspect in the abduction. Officials did not disclose the suspect's relation to the child, but according to the Amber Alert report the suspect, armed with a knife, assaulted the child's mother at the store on Riverside Drive.
Kennedy is described as a 5-foot 8-inch tall white man with grey hair and green eyes weighing 170 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a brown short-sleeve shirt with gray shorts and black and white shoes, police report. He has a tattoo of a skull on his left forearm, a tattoo of a skull with bandanna over the mouth on right forearm, an eye tattoo on the back of his right hand and a pit bull with American bulldog written under it and a wizard on his left upper arm.
He was last seen driving a gold-four door Suzuki, with North Carolina plates of FAA-1873.
